6/14/18 review of the book Body and Soul, by Alondra Nelson

Here is the link to my June 14, 2018, Twitter thread review of the book Body and Soul: The Black Panther Party and the Fight Against Medical Discrimination, by Alondra Nelson.

Twitter's platform has twisted each of my threads through 2018 and 2019 out of chronological order. This thread is affected, but is still mostly coherent. My apologies.

Thank you for reading. Please enjoy.

12/20/15 review of documentary The Black Panthers: Vanguard of the Revolution

Here is the link to my Twitter thread review of the documentary The Black Panthers: Vanguard of the Revolution, directed by Stanley Nelson, Jr.

My Twitter thread discusses some of the members of the Black Panther Party that I learned of through the documentary. It gives some of the basic philosophy of the party. It also discusses how the party related to some other groups I had been studying. And it discusses the FBI's relation to the party.

I saw this film at the Denver Film Society's Sie FilmCenter in Denver, Colorado.
