5/23/21 criticism of use of term "white slavery" in a book review

Here is the link to my May 23, 2021, Twitter thread reaction to a review in The Denver Post of the book The Girl Who Dared to Defy, by Jane Little Botkin.

My reaction essentially criticizes the review's use of the term "white slavery."

Thank you for reading. Please enjoy.

3/23/19 discussion about addressing sex work and misinformation

Here is the link to my March 23, 2019, Twitter thread, which was a kind of open letter to Colorado State Representatives Leslie Herod and Alex Valdez about ideas for sex work decriminalization and addressing sex trafficking misinformation at Denver International Airport.

In all fairness to Representative Valdez, he did tell me to email him. I can't remember whether I emailed him, but I honestly think I did not. Or, if I did, I don't think I followed up after my first email.

There's really no excuse if ended up not following up on this action.

But what I would say is, I was literally going without food at the time. I was probably more depressed than I'd ever been in my life. I was trying to find some kind of helping hand. And I'm not sure why, but I didn't feel like whatever sort of encouragement I was receiving from Representative Valdez -- and I demonstrably was receiving encouragement -- was going to help me get to whatever sort of stability I was hoping to get to.

Thank you or reading. Please enjoy.

1/29/19 review of the book Delinquent Daughters, by Mary E. Odem

Here is the link to my January 29, 2019, Twitter thread review of the book Delinquent Daughters: Protecting and Policing Adolescent Female Sexuality in the United States, 1885-1920, by Mary E. Odem.

Twitter's platform has twisted each of my threads through 2018 and 2019 out of chronological order. This thread is affected, but is still moderately coherent. My apologies.

Thank you for reading. Please enjoy.
