The documentary Raise the Roof is the story of how a replica of an 18th-century Polish synagogue was built and became the centerpiece of the Museum of Polish Jews in Warsaw. My thread gives a background on the documentary, the synagogue-building process, and some of the organizations involved in the process. It also gives links to the film's trailer and the Denver Jewish Film Festival, which is where I saw the documentary.
