1/30/18 review of CVA show Sangre Colorado: Carlos Fresquez Mid-Career Survey
Here is the link to my Twitter thread review of the MSU Denver Center for Visual Art show Sangre Colorado: Carlos Fresquez Mid-Career Survey.
The thread gives a summary of the show and some background on the CVA and Carlos Fresquez. The thread discusses some of the show's themes, such as how Chicanx people deal with inner and societal stereotypes, the history of Chicanx people, and religious and commercial iconography. The thread also discusses and gives a lot of photos of Fresquez's art style, as well as discussing some evident influences and some of my favorite works by Fresquez.
Some of my Twitter threads have been twisted out of chronological order by Twitter's platform. This thread's coherency is slightly affected as a result. My apologies.

12/20/15 review of MSU CVA exhibit Under the Guillotine
Here is the link to my Twitter thread review of the Metropolitan State University Center for Visual Arts exhibit Under the Guillotine: James Gillray and Contemporary Counterparts.
My thread gives a little context for the show, including the collector who owned many of the works displayed, Arthur Gilbert. The thread discusses how Gillray illustrated the history and scandals of his time. It also discusses how Gillray's nationalistic paranoia is much like the paranoia we are dealing with today. The thread discusses some of my favorite pieces.
The thread also spends quite a bit of time on the works of Molly Crabapple, which were on display in the exhibition as an example of Gillray's contemporary counterparts.

8/30/15 review of group exhibition New Fine Line at Metro State's Center for Visual Art
(Image: Gao Qian painting at MSU CVA's New Fine Line show)
Here is the link to my Twitter thread review of the 2015 group show New Fine Line at Metropolitan State University's Center for Visual Art in Denver.
New Fine Line was an exhibit of modern Chinese gongbi painting. From my understanding, gongbi painting is a centuries-old fine-line painting style with a coloring process that layers single colors on top of each other to create a sense of depth. My Twitter thread shows work by Lu Peng, Gao Qian, Zhang Jian, Shang Jingkui, and Chen Zi.

1/10/15 review of MSU Center for Visual Art show Greater Than the Sum
Here is the link to my Twitter thread review of the Metropolitan State University Center for Visual Art's show Greater Than the Sum.
Greater Than the Sum was the 2014 juried exhibit of the National Collage Society. In my Twitter thread, I discussed the way the exhibit showcased means of expression through collage. I discussed how I liked works that explored body image issues and landscapes. I also gave a lot of pictures of works I liked.
Here is a link to the Metropolitan State University's Center for Visual Art. Probably one of the best galleries in the Denver metro area.
