For fans of Henry Darger, this book is definitely a must-read.

However, for people interested in the history of things like gay life in America, gay youth in America, youth/adult love among males, the illegality of homosexuality, gay sex work, gay youth who did sex work, and the institutionalization and torture of gay and poor youth in America, this book is also a must-read.
