4/9/19 review of the novel Mañana Means Heaven, by Tim Z. Hernandez
Here is the link to my April 9, 2019, Twitter thread review of the book Mañana Means Heaven, by Tim Z. Hernandez.
Twitter's platform has twisted each of my threads through 2018 and 2019 out of chronological order. This thread is affected, but is still moderately coherent. My apologies.

1/1/16 thoughts about a 2015 lecture by Jose Angel Gutierrez
Here is the link to a January, 2016, Twitter thread I did reflecting some more on thoughts I had about a lecture given by Jose Angel Gutierrez at the History Colorado Center in 2015.
In this thread I discuss two ideas Gutierrez shared at the talk. One is the idea of "mañana" that is prevalent in the Chicano culture. The other is the idea of the spanish word "ojala" (God willing) and how that word can help Chicano people think about forming solidarity with other people.

4/12/15 review of Jose Angel Gutierrez talk at History Colorado Center
Here is the link to my Twitter thread review of a talk given by Jose Angel Gutierrez at the History Colorado Center in April of 2015.
Gutierrez is known as one of the Four Horsemen of the Chicano Movement. The thread discusses some of the key themes of Gutierrez's talk. It also discusses some of my own reactions to being in the audience of that talk. It also discusses some of the ways the talk got me inspired to be more civically engaged.
Here is the link to the History Colorado Center, which is a great museum in Denver, Colorado.
