2/3/19 listing of all my online writings until 2019

Here is the link to my February 3, 2019, Twitter thread that gives links to all the writing I had online at that time.

One reason I wrote this thread was to give people who liked my Twitter threads a chance to read anything else by me they might like to read. I pinned the thread at the top of my profile so anybody who visited could access all my old writings somewhat easily.

However -- another reason I wrote this thread was because it really was hurting me that there were so many people treating me mean on Twitter. A lot of these people knew me in real life. Some had known me for years. But many were, right around this time, acting like they didn't know me, and acting like I was some nobody who had just popped up out of thin air.

My online writings go back to 2009 -- mostly things like fanfiction and blogs before I started Twitter in 2012. But my online writings also go back, via things like transcriptions of my dream journals, to 2004. I also even included some of my old professional writings from when I was an analyst on Wall Street, from 2006 to 2011.

I was trying, as well as I could, to show people -- I'm not just some random person who popped up one day. I've been doing stuff for a while now. Some people listened to me. But the people who wanted to be mean to me just kept being mean.

3/8/15 review of film The Duke of Burgundy

Here is the link to my March 8, 2015, Twitter thread review of the film The Duke of Burgundy, directed by Peter Strickland.

The Duke of Burgundy has remained my favorite narrative film of this decade. In this thread, I discuss the conflict between vanilla and BDSM desires. I also discuss the "power of victimhood," as well as selfishness and the desire to please in relationships. I discuss how sometimes the doms in BDSM relationships are more vulnerable than the subs. I also discuss some of my favorite scene, fetish and other, in the film.

If you haven't seen The Duke of Burgundy, I highly recommend it -- though I would also mention that it is very fetish-oriented. Here is the trailer for the film.

I would also mention that the soundtrack for The Duke of Burgundy, by Cat's Eyes, is wonderful. Here's the opening credit song.

This thread compares the MCA Denver's show to a previous show they'd done by Bruce Conner. It talks a bit about how DEVO influenced me. And it gives a bit of insight into my own fetish-based opinions about Mothersbaugh's works.
