Ashraf Fayadh is a Palestinian poet who was jailed in Saudi Arabia in 2016. The International Literature Festival Berlin staged readings of Fayadh's poetry around the world in solidarity with Fayadh. I had the honor of staging the Denver, Colorado reading. This thread discusses Fayadh's situation as a preview of that reading.

RedLine Denver's EPIC Arts program is one of my favorite things about Denver. RedLine's studio artists participate with schools around Denver to create socially-themed conceptual art works. It's incredible.
My Twitter thread discusses EPIC Arts' philosophy, as expressed by Robin Gallite. I also gave a good deal of pictures from the show. A lot of great work was on display there.

It delves into the actual challenges and successes Chicago has faced while teaching at universities. I also discuss some interesting aims and ideas Chicago conveys in the book, as well as some authors she mentions.
I also discuss my own ideas about widening the audience for art. This probably influenced me more than I considered back then, as this really was a defining moment in my life, when I became a lot more involved with the art scene in Denver.

Tweet 1. Today I went to the Red Line Gallery in Denver for its exhibit for the Denver Month of Photography.
T2. The Denver Month of Photography put on by @marksinkphoto features photographic work at over 180 locations in Denver. T3. The theme of this year's MoP from what I gathered from @denverpost is reality versus illusion. Hence @RedLineDenver's "Reality of Fiction."
T4. Front-page work at @RedLineDenver is selection from Fake Vacations by Reiner Riedler. People enjoying fake settings of famous destinations.
T5. Spatially (I guess) the centerpiece @RedLineDenver was series of low-color photos of people with body changes (?), by Phillip @MrToledano
T6. (with image) Here's one by Colorado artist Christine Buchsbaum I thought lovely @diaper_wolf would enjoy, maybe. @RedLineDenver
T7. What's also neat about @RedLineDenver is that the studios of the artists in residence are open for you to look around in.
T8. (with image) Some studios @RedLineDenver seem more like exhibits, as Laura Shill's. If only I could've had this room as a child!

The show Play Grounds explored concepts like boundary and possession in a lot of different ways, psychological and material, and with art that spanned all kinds of media. In my thread I discuss some of these explorations. I also show a lot of pictures from the show, including work by Dan Tobin Smith, Augustina Woodgate, Anne-Marie Schleiner, Brody Condon, and Mary Flanagan.
